Sentinels of Freedom Welcome Two More The San Ramon Express
The Sentinels of Freedom Foundation held a ceremony last evening at the Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon to welcome two new Sentinels' Scholarship recipients, U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Matthew Carhart and U.S. Army Cpl. Elizabeth Bailey Wafflard. 
San Ramon Mayor H. Abram Wilson, a Vietnam War veteran, received a standing ovation when he said, "Duty, honor, country - these three words build courage."

San Ramon's Budget Holding Steady - The Contra Costa Times
San Ramon, CA- With the help of some extra cash and fewer expenditures, San Ramon is doing all right financially, according to a midyear financial report.
After hearing the report Tuesday, Mayor H. Abram Wilson was prompted to comment: "Probably many cities in the United States (would have) thought they died and gone to heaven to have a report like that."

Wilson Has Dominant Fundraising Advantage Over Buchanan - Sacramento Outsider Has Twice as Much Cash-On-Hand
San Ramon, California – San Ramon Mayor Abram Wilson outraised incumbent Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan by 2-1 in the most recent financial reporting. Wilson has now raised over $162,000 to Buchanan’s $86,000 and has $115,748 in the bank compared to just $55,810 for Buchanan.

- In the Assembly Education Committee, this separate bill passed 11-4 with Assembly members Julia Brownley, D-Woodland Hills; Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco; Wesley Chesbro, D-Santa Rosa; and Tom Torlakson, D-Martinez, voting no. Joan Buchanan, D-San Ramon, abstained, continuing a disturbing pattern of abdication of her duty as a legislator. Bonnie Lowenthal, D-Long Beach, didn't vote.

"Legislators strategically use abstention and absences to avoid controversial "yes" or "no" votes, often killing bills in the process.
Obama announced in July that states could compete for $4 billion in new Race to the Top funds to move the bar in those reform areas. Applications are due Jan. 19.

I’m making it official.  I am running for the state legislature in the 15th State Assembly District 
Voters across the state sent a strong message when they defeated Propositions 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, and 1E.  They told legislators that it’s time they started doing their jobs and were held accountable to their constituents.
